My Horse Record started off as a personal project to stop losing track of when my horse – Steve – had his toes trimmed, and a place to store his racing history/details from his past owner.
Steve has also been a bit of a project horse. With a long racing career, his body was/is still a constant state of change and improvement. He is like an onion, as we fix layers of hoof/body work issues, new ones surface. He also came to me with the typical racehorse behaviour, which has improved immensely.
Reviewing my Steve record over the last years has been endlessly fascinating and encouraging – especially when things plateau for a while, or we regress a couple of steps.
I think that every horse owner should keep a journal about their horse and nothing beats the flexibility of digital notebooks!
